Lounge act is a story about two friends, Joey and Ringo. Two friends who decide that when it comes to women, quantity is an easier goal than quality. While happily living their oblivious swinger's life in the non-stop party town that is Birmingham, the specter of meaningful relationships and responsible adulthood begins to rear its ugly head.
Joey's dream to be a singer starts to take a back seat to his search for "something more". Ringo is perfectly happy playing the role of sidekick until a truelove from his past shows up.
It doesn't help that Joey and Ringo live in the pool-house of their boss's ex-wife, Jennifer. Or that their boss, ex-music video channel host Apollo Mattea, will only let them perform on Wednesday nights, the graveyard of performance nights.
Through a series of disconcerting experiences with women, Joey realizes that the girl he always wanted may have been near the entire time. His actions prove that you may be able to take the boy out of the comic book store, but you can't take the comic book store out of the boy. Lounge Act is the answer to an entire generation that was misguided by John Hughes movies; a romantic comedy for the kind of guys that never get the girl, and the girls that never "get" the guys.
